Did you know that Jesus rose on Easter, but he didn’t ascend into heaven for 40 more days? He was hanging out with the apostles and showing himself to many other people. In 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Paul says that Jesus appeared to 500 people at one time! Most of those people were still alive when he wrote to the Corinthians. Close to 500 corroborating Eye Witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus. That’s amazing! You can’t get 500 witnesses to testify in court for anything nowadays!
He ascended into heaven 40 days after Easter as it says in Acts 1:1-26. Ascension Day this year is Thursday May 13. We’ll be celebrating with a feast the day before – Wednesday, May 12!
