Grand Prize

free, news, prize Add comments

Hey Youths, I need ideas for a grand prize. I am going to issue you guys a challenge for the summer, but I don’t know what the reward should be. Post some ideas in the comments. I’m serious about this, so any stupid ideas like “a baby zebra” won’t go over very well.  I’ll get you started with some ideas in the comments.

Grace & Peace,

Matt H.

    My ideas:

    an ipod shuffle
    an ipod nano
    a musichristian.com gift certificates
    a refurbished nintendo wii
    a refurbished nintendo DS

  2. random person Says:

those sound good, but I think you should leave out the shuffle & DS. The people who would be interested in winning a DS already have one, and most have something like the shuffle. I think you should put one other cheap certificate (like a restaurant or itunes certificate) in place of the shuffle, and something else in place of the DS but I don’t know what.

  3. matt Says:

I’d rather not use iTunes gift certificates, as they could be used to get satanic music, rather than the more godly variety.

And they’re just ideas, so feel free to keep brainstorming.

  4. not so secret admierer Says:

  6. Brian Says:

How ’bout they get to use Pastor Ben’s car every Sat night for 6 weeks?

  7. Brian Says:

Half way thru one of Ben’s messages on Sunday morning, they can pop up from the baptismal and yell, “BOO!”

I am VERY appauled by the youth ministers remark….”any STUPID ideas…” No idea coming from a child/youth is stupid. Its just misguided and often times misunderstood. You, Mr. Youth Minister, should be booted from your position.

    Ashley,

I appreciate your opinion, but I disagree. There is such a thing as a stupid idea. I would never call a kid stupid or one of their ideas stupid, but they do exist.

I’d like to point out that it was a joke. I was expecting to get more of those types of answers precisely because of what I said. The youth have a propensity for outlandish ideas and sometimes this is good. Sometimes it is not. “For everything a time and a season” is one of many lessons we’re trying to teach them.

As to the “booted from a position” comment, I believe that good doctrine is a better measuring stick than using words like “stupid.” I’d rather speak the truth in love than “tickle ears” like false teachers.

    I wish you well.

    Grace & Peace,

    -Matt
